     About Linda's Pashminas
What is Pashmina? Are all Silk Pashmina the same?

Pashmina is derived from the word PASHM, which means wool in Persian. Pashmina is the finest wool available. It is gathered from the fleece of the mountain goat (Capra Lincus), a mountain goat that lives in the Himalayas. The fleece is shed at the beginning of the summer and is then collected and taken to highly skilled craftspeople in the state of Kashmir who spin the wool and prepare if for processing. The diameter of the fiber of the pashmina fleece is a fraction of that of the human hair. That is why it is the softest wool available.
What is 30/70 Silk-Pashmina? This is a delicate blend of pure Kashmiri silk and pashmina. Are all 30/70 Silk-Pashmina the same? No! the quality varies considerably. The purity of the pashmina is very important for authenticity. If its is not extremely soft, it is not pashmina. Our pashminas go through many processes to ensure purity.
